WCG October Wrap Up!

04/11/2021

WCG has had an incredible October, packed full of events, speaking opportunities, workshops and more. Here’s a quick wrap up on what we’ve been up to in the last month.

Shed Your Bed 2021

The WCG team has raised over $5,000 during the month of October and overall, our fundraising event of 2021 hasSYB 1.PNG raised over $24,000 for our charity of choice – Beddown.    Combined with our 2020 event, this is a total of over $60,000 raised towards providing a good nights’ sleep for the most vulnerable members of our community, and helping them rebuild a life of quality.

On behalf of all staff at Wolter Consulting Group we would like to thank everyone who helped with the campaign, participated in the challenge and/or donated! Huge thanks also to our Corporate Partners – supporters, collaborators, local heroes and change makers. We couldn't have done it without you and are humbled by the amount of support we received.

UQ Industry Night 2021.jpgUQ OOP’S & UQ GEMS Industry Night

It was great to welcome back School of Earth and Environmental Sciences’ Industry Night after a year of lockdowns. We thank UQ OOPS and UQ GEMS for collaborating with us throughout the year on their events and publications. By engaging with the next generation Planners and Environmentalists we are hoping to inspire thought leadership and action, from all generations in our professional fields, towards planning, designing and delivering better cities and regions.

WCG & VAXA Discussion Panel

WCG team collaborated with Communication specialists VAXA Group in facilitating an open discussion panel on communication and engagement techniques in the property industry.

VAXA EVENT 2.JPGA particular takeaway from this discussion was the importance for Planners and Designers to build relationships with community members, informing, inspiring and building trust to ultimately reframe the narrative around planning and design of our cities and regions.  The event was a great opportunity to share insight with our fellow industry professionals on the latest issues and trends in the field of community engagement.
