WCG Secures Ministerial Infrastructure Designation for the New Plainland Secondary College.

03/04/2019

Wolter Consulting Group, on behalf of Brisbane Catholic Education, has secured Ministerial Infrastructure Designation for the new Plainland Secondary College.

In a major boost for the Lockyer Valley region, Plainland Secondary College will be its first Catholic secondary school and will incorporate a unique eco-sciences precinct to provide an innovative learning environment and resources to enhance rural industries and STEM employment opportunities.  The school is currently planned to open in 2021 and will ultimately support approximately 875 students.

A decision by the Minister for State Development, Manufacturing, Infrastructure and Planning was made in just under 7 months from lodgement, which reinforces the cost and assessment period efficiencies afforded by the Infrastructure Designation process under the Planning Act 2016.

Thanks to ABM Architects, Sheehy & Partners, Lambert & Rehbein and the rest of the project team for its valued contributions to this great outcome.
