ABC Radio's Steve Austin is Joined By Natalie Rayment

24/02/2017

With the draft South East Queensland Regional Planning only having one week left for public consultation some important conversations need to happen. How will this document realistically affect the lives of those living in South East Queensland?

ABC Brisbane’s, Steve Austin was joined yesterday by Wolter Consulting Group’s Director and Manager of Planning, Natalie Rayment to discuss just that.

When looking at the plan and what it means for the future, the question of where and in what form the growing population should be housed cannot be avoided. The clear majority of the growth is proposed in the urban areas of our region.

"We are not building a wall, so the growth will happen. Let's properly consider and comment at where that growth should occur and in what form," said Ms Rayment.

The Plan has a strong focus on curbing urban sprawl but Ms Rayment questions if it supports infill development opportunities.
