Natalie Rayment, a passionate leader who is widely regarded as an expert in her field, recently spoke with Channel Nine's Weekend Bulletin about accessibility and community benefits for Brisbane, touching on the conversation about Olympic stadiums. Natalie also spoke alongside Jackson Hills from QShelter on ABC Raadio to discuss YIFBY (Yes In Faiths Back Yard) initiative. They discussed their proposal to initiate model-scale social and affordable housing development on faith-based land.
Through industry presentations and conferences, Amy Marsden has shared her informative insights. In September, Amy presented at the PIA State Conference, discussing housing demands and supply. The following month, she attended the Liveability in SEQ: Changing the Dialogue for Density event, speaking on the Australian Liveability Census. In November, Amy spoke about the Paint Factory project and the planning challenges surrounding it at the Suburban Futures Conferences. In addition to these presentations, her wealth of knowledge extends to UQ as a lecturer on planning practices and plan-making topics. In May, Natalie also spoke at the Property Council WA Partner Lunch, sharing her insights on adopting a YIMBY mindset and fostering housing abundance and affordability for West Australians.
Our leaders ahve also been involved in various workshops and panels. In April, Natalie spoke at the UDIA National Congress panel about the housing crisis, sharing her insights on this critical issue and what we can do to build our way out. Last month, Natalie participated in the Brisbane Dialogues panel on 'Housing - What do we want to achieve?'. She examined Australia's housing policy, addressing growing concerns about affordability, homeownership and YIMBY (Yes In My Back Yard).
Brent O'Neill is also a prominent thought leader within our organisation and an expert on collaborative workshops. Recently, Brent held a creative workshop with the Cairns Regional Council, focusing on the Towards 2050 Growth Strategy and Directions Paper. We eagerly anticipate his insights at the upcoming Cairns Growth Summit later this year.
Despite being seven months into 2024, we are not slowing down! We are thrilled to be a Gold Partner for the Urbanity Conference at the end of July. Our exeptional group of leaders will be representing WCG, with Natalie speaking on the main stage on the topic 'Housing, Done Differently' as awell as Brent and Alastair running a conference-based workshop about in-fill density, what it should achieve, and how to support these approaches.
