The New Parallel Runway (NPR) Project at Brisbane Airport is the largest aviation project in Australia under construction. The project includes reclamation of 360 hectares of marshland. 11 million cubic metres of sand will be used to raise and improve the ground conditions. This will create a solid base for the new 3.3km long runway system, 12km of runways, vehicle underpass, seawall and all other necessary airfield infrastructure.

Wolter Consulting Group partnered with Fugro to establish a permanent tidal boundary location for the airport land. Their excellent practices and advanced specialist skills to an arrange of spatial challenges, resulted in the two companies becoming finalists for the Award for Technical Excellence.

The Spatial Excellence Awards celebrate the achievements of top spatial information enterprises and individuals. Projects and individuals recognised at this event are deemed to be truly outstanding achievers and pre-eminent in their field.

The work of Wolter Consulting Group and Fugro produced an outstanding result for Brisbane Airport Corporation; who also were listed as finalists for the Award of Technical Excellence.

The project has showcased excellent client relations, respectful government agency relations, open communication, good management and the application of technology.

Wolter Consulting Group congratulates their surveying team on their excellent work with the New Parallel Runway Project!
