  • Planning
  • On 6 September 2013, the Minister for Energy and Water Supply issued a Ministerial Designation of land for community infrastructure, specifically, operating works under the Electricity Act 1994. The land designation consists of a corridor of easements and areas of land, formally listed in the Queensland Government Gazette No. 4. The designation more commonly relates to Energex Limited’s (now Energy Queensland) SunSouth 132 kilivolt (kV) Power Project, consisting of a series of work phases. In accordance with Section 214 of the Sustainable Planning Act 2009, the designation will cease to have effect on 6 September 2019, being six (6) years after the date of the published gazettal notice.
  • Part of the route has been completed, but ongoing negotiations with Council have resulted in delays in the delivery process. Consequently, a further six year extension to the Infrastructure Designation is required to obtain all of the necessary easements.
