Disciplines/Services

  • Planning
  • The project is a 15 storey mixed use development that includes food and drink outlet, office and shop at street level and multiple dwelling apartments above. By including commercial uses at the street level, the uses effectively activate both Baxter Street and Hadlow Lane, creating an inviting environment for pedestrians.
  • The exterior of the building has been designed to include a highly articulated façade, which creates significant visual interest in the area.
  • The building will also incorporate various elements representing the design principles of Brisbane City Council’s ‘Buildings that Breathe’ document including a central ventilated core which allows cross-circulation of breezes both horizontally and vertically, ensuring the building remains cool all year round.

Planning

  • Our planning team has effectively co-ordinated with all project consultants to deliver an integrated outcome that both Brisbane City Council and the client are happy with.
  • Engaged with Council to increase the levels of activation in Hadlow Lane, enhancing an otherwise un-utilised space.
  • Successfully negotiated with Council to reduce the Baxter Street road width by 1m, allowing additional area in the verge to facilitate landscape features, seating, and an enhanced activated streetscape.
