Fitzgibbon Chase was the first development by Economic Development Queensland (EDQ) with construction commencing in 2009. Upon completion, Fitzgibbon Chase will provide over 1300 dwellings, kilometres of bushland trails, 42 hectares of conservation area, a community centre and neighbour centre. The community was specifically designed to deliver a mix of housing types to suit all lifestyles and budgets.

Fitzgibbon Chase has been presented by EDQ to the 2017 UDIA Qld Mitchell Brandtman Awards and crowned Winner of Award for Excellence in Residential Subdivision.

Planning

  • Strategic guidance to project and DA strategy, to promote innovation in planning process and housing products
  • Preparation of key planning arguments for a mix of housing types, including laneway dwellings, residential lots from 60m2 upwards and ten different housing typologies, delivering maximum diversity of price points and living options
  • Project coordination role to manager, private certification of Operational Works design and construction

Landscape Architecture

  • Creation of innovative and interesting streetscape and parks to demonstrate how higher density residential environment can be an attractive and desirable address
  • Comprehensive management of landscape maintenance activities across entire estate to ensure the estate remains well presented years after final contract maintenance is completed
  • Management of a non-standard 2-phase landscape construction period through the residential building construction phase to minimize time and costs for public realm after building works are completed
